Ship from Odoo and know where every parcel is

The AWB and its label straight from the delivery order, the courier's status back in Odoo, lockers chosen on a map and the cash on delivery turned into a bank statement. One base module, and a connector for each courier you work with.

Couriers Shipping Lockers Tracking Cash on delivery Questions

Illustration: a parcel with its AWB leaves the warehouse in a courier van, its status comes back to Odoo, it reaches a locker and the cash on delivery returns to the bank

From the order to the money, in Odoo

1. Book the AWB

From the delivery order, or for a whole batch at once. The courier returns the AWB and the label, and nothing is typed again in its portal.

2. Follow the parcel

The courier's status comes back on the delivery; the customer gets an email or an SMS and sees the parcel on the portal.

3. Settle the cash on delivery

What the courier pays out becomes a bank statement, matched by Odoo's own reconciliation.

Couriers

A connector for each courier

Courier missing?

We add it quickly, on the same base

Every connector stands on one base module, so a new courier needs only the part that talks to its API.

Let's talk

The base module, shared

The delivery method, the AWB and its label, batch AWBs, shipment options and tracking are written once, in the base module, and work the same way for every courier.

The connector, only the API

A courier module translates these steps into the courier's API: the rate, the AWB, the label and the parcel status.

Nemo Express runs on the Courier Manager platform, so its module adds under 100 lines of Python to the Courier Manager connector.

Price

The base is paid once

Every courier connector needs the base module. On Odoo Apps, the price of the first connector you buy includes the base; for each courier after that, you pay only for its connector, so the price is lower.

The page of each connector on Odoo Apps shows what its price includes: the connector and the modules it needs.

The first courier

The base module and the courier's connector, in one order.

Each courier after that

Only the new connector: the base you already own is not charged again.

An example on Odoo Apps: FAN Courier

Shipping

The shipping desk, without the courier's portal

The same steps for every courier, in the delivery order the warehouse already uses.

Rate on the sales order

The shipping cost is asked from the courier, or a fixed price is used, with a threshold above which the courier is asked.

AWB and label

Booked from the delivery order, with the label as PDF, or as ZPL for a thermal printer where the courier offers it.

Many AWBs at once

A batch transfer books the AWBs of all its deliveries in one go.

Shipment options

Several parcels with their dimensions, declared value, cash on delivery, open package, Saturday delivery, package return; only the options the courier accepts are offered.

Addresses the courier knows

Where the courier publishes them, its counties and localities are imported and mapped onto the Odoo address book, so the AWB is not refused for a misspelled locality.

The customer is told

An email or an SMS when the AWB is made and when the parcel is picked up, with the courier's tracking link.

Lockers

One map of lockers, for every courier

Easybox, FANbox, GLS parcel shops, Packeta Z-BOX and the other pickup points, in one catalog that is kept up to date.

Chosen on the website

At checkout the customer picks the locker on the map; points that do not collect cash are left out when the order is paid on delivery.

Only carts that fit

Products are marked as deliverable in a locker, and a locker method is offered only when all the products of the order fit.

The parcel goes where the customer chose

The locker on the website, the delivery address and the AWB read the same value, and the AWB carries the locker's own address.

Corrected in the warehouse

The operator can set or change the locker of an order on the same map, before the AWB is made.

Tracking

What needs attention today, on one screen

A band of cards above the list of AWBs, counted from the status the couriers report. A click on a card lists exactly the parcels it counted.

Try it live

In transit and delivered today

The parcels the courier still has, and those delivered since midnight.

Overdue and on time

Parcels past the courier's delivery time, counted in business days from the handover, and the share delivered on time over the last four weeks.

Return risk and returns

Parcels waiting at a courier office or in a locker for several days, which the courier sends back if nobody collects them, and the parcels refused or returned this month.

Cash on delivery on the road

The amounts the couriers still have to collect, one total per currency.

The customer sees it too

On the customer portal each order shows the shipment status, the AWB with its tracking link and the courier's own history of the parcel.

Cash on delivery

Odoo Enterprise

The courier pays one amount for dozens of parcels

The settlement module turns it back into one line per parcel, so each invoice is paid by its own amount.

From the courier

FAN Courier and Cargus settlements are fetched over their API for a range of dates; the GLS settlement file is imported.

In a clearing journal

The statement lands in a clearing journal, not in your bank: the money is still at the courier until the transfer arrives, and the transfer line matches the real bank movement.

A transfer without a statement

When only the money arrives, Odoo finds the delivered parcels that add up to the amount; if two groups fit, you choose.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a contract with the courier?

Yes. The connector uses your own account and API access at the courier, with your prices and services.

Can I use several couriers at the same time?

Yes. Each courier is a delivery method in Odoo; you install the connectors you need, on the same base module.

Does it work on Odoo Community?

The courier connectors, lockers and tracking work on Community and Enterprise. The cash-on-delivery settlement needs Odoo Enterprise.

My courier is not on the list.

Tell us which one. It may already be reachable through Postis, Innoship or Courier Manager, or a connector can be built on the same base.
